Thomas married Elizabeth Jones, the widow of Thomas Chappell, who died by Jun 22,
1704 because on that date Thomas signed a premarital agreement with the executor
of Thomas Chappell's estate, James Jones Jr., Elizabeth's brother. |

On Feb 20 1719, Thomas, then of Surry Co. patented 400 acres bounded on the north
side of Warwick Swamp, on the border between Surry & Prince George Counties,
by the Long Meadow Branch, and the corner of Robert Hunnicut, for which he paid
40 shillings. |

In 1728 daughter Elizabeth married John R. Chambless (1700-1768?) in Prince
George County VA. Their son John R. Jr. died about 1777 in Cheraw District,
Marlboro Co. SC. John R. Chambless Sr. married his second wife about 1760 there.
He is probably related to Henry Chambliss, father-in-law of the Mark Holloway,
the son of John Holloway (1719-?). |

About 1729, son Thomas married Penelope Goodwin (1711-1780), daughter of
Thomas Goodwin (1690-1730?). In Nov 1730
Thomas Taylor Sr. helped appraise the estate of Thomas Goodwin. |

The will of Thomas Taylor, dated Feb 4, 1743, probated Jan 16, 1744 in Surry Co. VA,
lists "daughters Elizabeth Chamless and Katherine Hobbs" [Surry Co. VA Wills,..,
1730-1800, will book pages 485,487]. An earlier May 14, 1728 deed of gift identifies
Katherine as "my daughter, Katherine, the wife of Edward Holloway of Prince George
County, Virginia" [Deed of Gift, Book 1713-28, Surry Co. VA]. Executors of his
will were Thomas and John Taylor, and the inventory was dated Feb 18, 1744. |
